Different views were expressed on the 20th Amendment as well as dissolving of parliament during several media conferences held in Colombo today.
Former Minister S.M. Chandrasena at Narahenpita Abhayaramaya stated that certain groups are attempting to avoid the 20th Amendment.
At the same media conference, former minister Bandula Gunawardana said that he knew nothing about the 20th Amendment.
Meanwhile, Nava Sama Samaja Party Leader Dr. Wickramabahu Karunarathna stated that parliament should be dissolved immediately as it cannot secure sufficient support to pass the 20th Amendment.
At another media conference held at the Information Department, Deputy Media Minister Shantha Bandara said the parliament would have to be dissolved if a new electoral system cannot be compromised by all.
