The time period allocated for accepting applications from individuals eligible to cast postal votes at the parliamentary election, is scheduled to end at midnight today (14).
The Elections Secretariat states that the time period will not be extended, under any circumstances, beyond midnight.
Those who have been unable to hand over their applications for postal voting are advised to submit said applications to the nearest District Election Office within the day.
However, the Elections Secretariat advises against submitting the applications via post today.
The secretariat says that applications for postal voting received by returning officers after today cannot be accepted and that they would be considered and delayed applications and rejected.
