Former minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has been refused membership of the SSC, reports say.
Three former senior cricketers had proposed to the club’s executive committee that he be given the membership.
The 15-member ex-co comprises former cricketers, lawyers and other private sector professionals.
At a vote on the proposal, the chairman abstained, while there were seven votes against Aluthgamage.
It was also decided that the ex-minister should accompany a SSC member when ushering his children who are its youth members.
