A group of people demanding the renovation of a dilapidated raod have booed and driven away north western province chief minister Dayasiri Jayasekara.
They had been demonstrating at Peelikada junction Kurunegala-Kandy road, disrupting vehicular traffic.
Arriving there, Jayasekara promised them that the stretch of road between Indulgoda and Kadupitiya would be repaired.
However, the protesters pointed out that the CM has been making such promises, which have not been met.
When Jayasekara insisted that as the CM, he would get the road renovated, protesters jeered at him.
They dispersed after provincial RDA director W.M.C. Fernando gave them an undertaking that the road would be renovated soon.
