It is the responsibility of all to elect a prime minister who can work in close cooperation with president Maithripala Sirisena, says ex-president Chandrika Kumaratunga.
She was speaking at a public meetinag at Golden Sun City hall in Balangoda, organized by the Citizens’ Power for a Just Society.
Not only parliament, but also the entire country will be in a total mess if Mahinda Rajapaksa becomes prime minister by any chance at the upcoming parliamentary polls, she warned.
She said although she had clashed with UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe over their views and ideologies, she would ask the people to defeat Rajapaksa as the country is important than party politics.
