A protest was also staged against the transfer of the principal of the Mihintale Central Colleg . The protest, which was staged by the students of the school, came under much condemnation by the parents.
A parent stated that there is no point in keeping a principal to serve the needs of the teachers, as they have sent naive students to the middle of the streets, and not a single teacher has attended this happening.
Another parent added that they have ruined the education given to these children by getting them involved in the problems of the teachers.
Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union, Joseph Stalin stated that they condemn using students. They added that with regard to Southland College, and schools, they have already complained to the education minister.
