Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror' regarding the particular situation SLFP MP Dullas Alahapperuma stated that the rally on 17th was not held against the SLFP or the incumbent President Maithripala Sirisena. He stated that it was held against the United National Party (UNP) and its leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and none of the SLFP MPs made statements against the SLFP or its leader. The rally saw the participation of 37 SLFP parliamentarians, 03 out of 05 senior vice presidents, 04 out of 08 vice presidents, said MP Alahapperuma , adding that 284 out of 417 provincial councillors and 1484 out of 2611 local government members also participated in the rally. Therefore disciplinary action will have to be taken against all of them and expel from the party, he said.
