Around 35 per cent of the safe drinking water supplied by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board go waste, results of a latest survey shows.
An official of the NWSDB has told the media that this amounts to 12,250 million litres a month.
For the purification of water, it spends Rs. 50 per 1,000 litres.
However, 75 pc of the water is supplied at prices below the cost of purification, said the official.
