The third phase of the Norochcholai Power Plant has recommenced its operation following repairs.
According to the spokesperson of the CEB Sulakshana Jayawardena, currently all three phases of the Norochcholai power plant are generating power with 900 megawatts capacity.
The power generation of the third phase plant ceased its operation due to a fault in one of the boilers on the 11th of this month.
Meanwhile, CEB spokesperson further noted that hydro power generation has dropped to 25%, due to the hydro-catchment areas receiving no rainfall.
